SAVOIR FAIRE 212 – 2009
This is the third collaborative work by Ruth Lyons and Carl Giffney . The Good Hatchery were commissioned to create a new work for Place Gallery, a new artist led gallery and retail space in Gorey, Co. Wexford.
Following on from The Solution and Iridescence A, Savoir Faire 212 takes inspiration from utilitarian or ‘ultrordinary’ structures and through gentle subversion attempts to provide a new perspective on that which is everyday. Savoir Faire 212 speaks about the storage and distribution of power and the transcendent quality of water and their roles in a hypothetical future society.
